There are no more promotion opportunities for staff sergeants in FY21 and beyond. FY20 Promotion Boards for staff sergeants and gunnery sergeants were the last promotion opportunity for Marines with the MOSs listed in paragraph 2.A. As a reminder, there are no more promotion opportunities for sergeants and below.ģ.B. Reclassification for Sergeants are not guaranteed due to possible seniority. On 1 April 2022, any remaining Corporals and below in the 1812 or 2146 PMOS with greater than 24 months remaining on contract, who are not pending orders or separation from voluntary actions and have not communicated their intentions and/or preferences with MMEA, will be reclassified into a new MOS based on the needs of the Marine Corps.
